Dear Readers as you know by now I have moved out of my house and am now living with my boyfriend. It's a lot of fun, but I also have to really watch what I spend money on. I used to be really bad at keeping track of my money. I would never check to see how much I had in the bank, I would buy things that I really didn't need just because I enjoy shopping....a lot. I just really wasn't good with money, but with every mistake that we make there is a lesion to be learned. Now I'm very good with my money. So if you're living on your own, or thinking about living on your own, or just are looking for ways to save some money here are a few tips to help you out: # 2: PACK YOUR LUNCH/COOK DINNERS: One of the things that will help you save is to put together a budget for the food store. If you bring your lunch to work, and cook at least a few times a week instead of eating out it will help you save. What My boyfriend and I have been doing is buying things for lunches like yogurt, fruit cups, and tuna with crackers, and then I've been cooking very inexpensive meals 3 times a week, and on the other nights we eat Subway, or Lean Cuisines. # 3: SHOP AROUND FOR THE BEST PRICE!!! I can't even tell you how many times I have over paid for things that I could have gotten cheaper somewhere else. Instead of going shopping for things at the mall go to discount stores like Wal-Mart. Don't be too proud to go to the Dollar store either! They actually have decent stuff in there. # 4: ALWAYS KEEP TRACK OF YOUR MONEY!!! If you ever don't know exactly how much you have in the bank or you just want to double check, it's a really good idea to do online banking. That way you can log in whenever to check all your statements. # 5: TRY TO PUT SOME MONEY ASIDE FOR SAVINGS!!! Every time I get paid I always try to put some money aside for a rainy day. You never know what will come up in the future. Sometimes I can only put aside $20 but it's still something and it does add up.:-) I hope these tips help you guys as much as they help me:-) Good luck out there!!! xoxo
