Hello Readers and Happy Spring! As you know Mother's Day is next Sunday so I decided to create a couple of really cute and super easy ideas that any mother would love. (Mom if you are reading this Spoiler alert!) No Peeking! Come back and read later! For everyone else carry on... The first gift idea is a Mother's Day Survival Kit: Now I was going through Pinterest and saw many different ideas for many different types of survival kits. Some were for mom's, some were for teachers, some had different themes and some I really didn't like because it was like "oh here's a rubber band for holding us all together" yeah like your mom doesn't already have a ton of rubber bands in her desk drawer. I liked the idea of it but not the supplies. So I came up with my own list of little things in a jar that I thought my mom could actually use. This is what I came up with.... 1. Life Savers 2. A Bag of my mom's favorite tea 3. Cherry Chap Stick 4. Mini bottle of Lotion 5. Aspirin 6. Snickers chocolate bar My second idea is a gift card decorated because who doesn't love gift cards? I got my mom a gift card to Starbucks along with a pack of gum that they sell at the register. There's lots of other cute little treats you can add too like mints, shortbread cookies, espresso beans etc. I also asked for an extra cup to take with me. I put some shredded purple paper on the bottom of the cup then added the gift card and gum, put the top on and TA-DA! A super cute gift idea for Mom!:) I hope everyone has a Happy Mother's Day! :) Remember you only get one Mother so treat her good!:) Get her a nice gift, take her out to dinner, make her breakfast in bed, treat her to a movie, etc. Show her that you love her! Happy Mother's Day!

Valentine's Day is the day of love and showing your soul mate how much they mean to you. Unfortunately we live in a time where women now work just as much as men do. The days of staying at home and having all the time in the world to make a special dinner has become a thing of the past. Luckly I'm here to share a quick and easy 3 course dinner plan which you can put together in as little as 30 minutes! First course: yummy mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce. I bought the frozen ones at Shop Rite. It took 7 minutes to cook in the oven. Put them on a heart shaped plate and poured a jar of marinara sauce into a small bowl next to it and you have your appetizer. Second course: Ravioli with Volka sauce. I bought three bags of big, cheese raviolis and boiled them on top of the stove for about 12 minutes. Then heat up my sauce in a separate pan. You can buy any sauce you'd like. I'm a big Volka sauce fan. Top it with parm cheese and you have your main dish. Thrid course: Valentine parfaits. I got cool whip, chocolate moose in a box, strawberries and Entenmann's pound cake. I cut the cake into little bite size squares and the strawberries into little pieces and followed the directions on the box to make the chocolate moose. Then I took big, plastic wine glasses and started layering first the cool whip, then chocolate moose, then pound cake then strawberries and repeated until I got to the top where I put the cool whip on top with the strawberries. This took about 6 minutes to put together. A perfect Valentine's Day dessert! YUM! You can also add a few simple touches such as a Valentine's Day table cloth. I got this one at Walmart for .97 cents. I also lit some candles, got sparkling apple cider to drink and had romantic music playing from my iPhone when my husband walked in.
No matter what you decide to do I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day!:) Time to welcome in the New Year with these yummy treats. To make Champagne Cookies you will need the following... 2 1/2 cups pink champagne 1 1/4 cups flour 1 tsp baking powder 1 cup sugar 1/3 shortening for icing: 3cups powdered sugar pinch of salt 1/4 cup champagne first pour champagne into pan over high heat and boil for about 15 minutes. Than transfer to a glass and put into the fridge to cool. In a large bowl whisk together the flour and baking powder then set aside. In another bowl mix together the 1/2 cup sugar with shortening until smooth. Add 1/2 cup of cold Champagne stir to mix. (Shortening will be lumpy and that's ok) add flour mixture until soft dough forms. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line baking sheet with wax paper. Roll dough into small balls then roll the balls into a small bowl of sugar and place them onto the baking sheet. Using a glass lightly press the balls so they are flat. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Meanwhile whisk together powdered sugar and 1/4 cold Champagne and a pinch of salt. Dip cooled off cookies into icing and top with sprinkles and enjoy!:) Happy New Year!
Christmas is right around the corner and what better way to get in the Holiday spirit than buying gifts for all the people you love! I love getting ting presents for people whether it's a Christmas present, birthday present or just because I want to, it's really fun to pick things out and see the look on their face when they open it up. I happen to come from a big Italian family. I have five siblings, a mom and step-dad, a dad and step-mom, 12 nieces and nephews not to mention my friends, co-workers, husband and his family. The point is there's a lot of people to shop for and not enough money. So so how do you get nice gifts without breaking the bank? Well here are a couple of ideas to help you out... 1. Christmas puns! This is a really cute and inexpensive way to give your friends/ co-worker/ neighbor a nice gift. Take little post-it notes and write little puns to go along with their gift. You could even do a whole Christmas theme basket with small gifts and a Christmas pun for each one. Here are a few ideas. I got Christmas Hershey Kisses in little baggies and wrote "We Wish You a Merry Kiss-mas..." Then added a cherry favored clap stick and wrote "and a Clappy New Year!" I also bought these cute little hot chocolate stocking stuffers and wrote "Have a Cup of Cheer!" Then I bought these super soft socks and wrote "For Your Mistle Toes." Put these all together and you have a super cute gift! 2. Baking with Christmas Love. This one has been around forever but baking cookies is a great way to save money while giving someone a special treat. Christmas cookies are great gifts for people who you want to get something for but you're not really sure what to get them. Everyone loves cookies on Christmas! Every year I make Gingerbread, chocolate chip, Jelly thumbprints, Sugar and Hazelnut balls. I hope these ideas help you out a little! Have a very, merry Christmas!!
Hoppy Easter my wonderful readers! I was feeling extra creative last night so I decided to try to make something I've never made before that is these homemade yummy lemon muffins baked inside these egg shells. I saw this recipe a while ago on Pinterest and every time I see something like that where I'm not sure exactly how you make it I just have to know how it's done! So without any more delay allow me to share this recipe with you! so let me start by saying the recipe I followed did not give me enough batter to fill up all my eggs so I had to triple it in order to have enough. So you will need: 12 eggs 1&1/2 cups flour 1&1/2 cups sugar 1&1/2 teaspoons of lemon extract 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup butter 3 eggs first you crack open the tops of your eggs. I used a corkscrew to do this. Then empty out what's inside. I poured out the first three eggs into a bowl and the rest in the trash can. After all the eggs are open and rinse out with water out them into a bowl filled with salt water making sure they have salt water inside too so that they will sink to the bottom. Let them sit in the salt water for 30 minutes. meanwhile take the bowl with the three eggs and add in the sugar mixing it until it's nice and creamy. In a different bowl mix together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Add the butter and the lemon extract to the egg and sugar mixture until it's combined then add in the flour mixture. Add in the sour cream last. Rinse your eggs out with water and let them dry on a paper towel. Then put them in a muffin tin to bake. I put the muffin cup paper on so it would be easier to clean up. using a plastic lunch bag fill up the batter and cut a hole on the side then pipe the batter into each egg filling them almost all the way up. Preheat oven for 350 and bake for 23 minutes. When you take them out you will see that the muffin have overflowed out of the eggs. This is ok. Once they are cooled off take a knife and remove excess muffin from eggs then use a damp paper towel to remove any other little speckles. Place ice them into an egg carton and Ta-Da!!! You have your egg muffins!!! I hope you guys enjoy this little Easter treat! Have a happy Easter everyone!!:)
Since Valentine's Day is here once again I thought I would do yet another DIY post in honor of one of my favorite holidays! So without any delay lets get right to it:Number 1: paper fortune cookies. These are so simple, so inexpensive and super cute! They're great to give to your boyfriend/husband or even your friends. All you need is Valentine's Dayish paper, a glue stick, scissors and something round to track. I used a glass cup. First track a bunch of circles using your glass cup. once you have your circles ready start by putting your fortune inside. You can either buy already made fortunes at Michaels or just make your own ones at home with regular paper whichever way you want to do it. This is the part that gets a little tricky. You may have to practice a few times before you get into the flow of it. First you fold your circle in half facing upwards. Next you take your thumb into the center and push that up and pulling down the two sides at the same time which will create a fortune cookie shape. Just like this. I found using thicker paper seemed to work better. Next you take your glue stick and glue the middle part together so it will stay and that's pretty much it! Number 2: 52 Reasons Why I Love You. I know everyone and their mother has already done this but I wanted to show you my way of doing it because I've seen it done with sharpies, I've seen it done with stickers but I wanted to try something different. First you'll need a deck of cards, ribbon and a hole puncher. Then you'll need to create a little book using the cards. First put the cards in the order you want, then by using your hole puncher line up the cards a few at a time and punch holes into the left sides of them but making sure they are in the right spots when you punch. After all the cards have holes run the ribbon through the back of the deck bringing it out to the front so you can make a nice little bow tie. Then I went to Word on my laptop and started typing up everything I loved about my fiancé. Then I went to insert and looked up pictures to go along with some of the things I wrote down. Then I cut it all out, took my glue stick to glue them onto each card and that was that. You can write anything you want! Be as cute or as corny as you want because what the Hell, it's Valentine's Day!!! Number 3: Pink Cake Pops!!! Last but not least because you guys know I always save the best for last. I made these delicious cake pops!!! You will need: 1 box of cake mix (I used yellow) 1 thing of vanilla frosting Pink candy melts White sprinkles Shortening Cake pop sticks Some kind of cake pop forming device And a piece of styrofoam First you use a regular baking pan to bake a cake like you normally would. Follow the directions on the box to bake a cake. Once the cake has completely cooled off use a knife to cut off all the brown parts and only leave the fluffy middle. Place the fluffy part into a bowl and use your hands to crumble it up then add 2 tbsp of vanilla frosting and mix it together. Then start to form balls in your hands then adding them to the cake pop forming tool for a smoother shape. Melt about 1/4 cup of the pink candy melts into the microwave for about 30 seconds mixing well. Then take your cake pop sticks dip them into the pink melted chocolate then stick them about half way into each cake pop. Then stick the cake pops into the freezer for a good 40 minutes. Once you take your cake pops out of the freezer melt the rest of the pink candy melts in the microwave again only 30 seconds at a time and add 1 1/2 tsp shortening to it and mix well. Then pour that into a tall glass and dip your cake pops in it one at a time covering them completely making sure you tap any extra pink chocolate off into the glass then sprinkle with the white sprinkles right away and stick it on the stryoform to dry. Try to do this as quickly as you can because the candy melts dry really fast and if you move too slow it might dry up before you can finish them all. I hope you guys enjoy these Valentine's Day gifts and enjoy your Valentine's Day whatever you end up doing!!! Xoxoxo
Hey there Readers! Today I'm going to share a few ideas for bento box lunches. Now I don't know about you but when I wake up in the morning and I'm rushing around trying to get everything together I just don't have time to sit there and make lunch for myself nor do I know what kind of lunch to make. For the longest time I was just buying packaged food that you can just throw into a bag and go to work. That's all good but what happens when you get bored of eating the same things everyday?Well I came up with something new. First you will need a container with separate spaces. I got mine at the dollar store, then you need to figure out kind of food you'd like to eat for lunch. Here are a few things I came up with: first I just made a classic egg salad sandwich and added some fresh fruit blueberries and green grapes. I love egg salad and haven't had it in a while. You need to make sure you make up your bento box the night before and stick it in the fridge that way you can grab it to go in the morning. The good thing about egg salad is that it's easy to make and if you use a lot of eggs like a dozen you can make a lot of sandwiches. My next idea was to make a veggie roll up. For this you will need tortilla rolls, cream cheese and your choice of veggies. I used granted carrots and cut up green peppers. First you put cream cheese on the tortilla then add the veggies and roll them up and cut it in half. I also added applesauce and pretzel sticks to the box. The last idea I had was a turkey and cheese sandwich. Now some people like mayo on their sandwiches but I prefer mustard, brown, spicy mustard actually. Then I sliced up yummy strawberries on the side. I also use whole wheat bread because it's healthier for you. I hope you guys like these ideas! Enjoy your Sunday Funday! Xoxoxo
Valentine's Day is a week away and in honor of one of my favorite holidays I've made some yummy treats to celebrate!:) First I took some pink paper, a heart shaped cookie cutter, a pen, tiny zip lock bags, scissors, and a bag of Starburst jelly beans. Using the cookie cutter I traced the heart on to the pink paper then cut it. I then filled up my bags with the beans and wrote "Thanks for BE-AN such a great friend." I also made yummy sugar cookies. First I preheated my oven to 400 degrees. Then using an electric mixer I mixed together 1 cup of butter with 1 cup of sugar. Then I added 1 egg and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. In a separate bowl I mixed together 3 cups of flour and 2 tsp baking powder. Then adding one cup at a time of flour mixture into the butter and sugar mixture. Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutter shapes I used hearts of course.:) Place into non greased pan and bake for 6-7 minute. Cool, decorate and enjoy.:) Last but not least I made chocolate cup cakes. Using just a chocolate cake batter box from Walmart I followed the directions and made cup cakes like I always do. After I baked them I cut of the muffin tops, using the smallest heart cookie cutter I had I cut a heart out into the muffin top. I used strawberry icing over remaining cup cake then topped with the heart. I finished by sprinkling confectioners sugar.:) Happy valentines day!!!:) xoxox! I'm so excited to show you guys how to make hamburger cupcakes. I've been wanting to make them ever since I first saw them. They're really easy and have very few ingredients. You will need: vanilla cake mix, chocolate cake mix (or brownie mix whichever you prefer) vanilla icing, coconut flakes, green, yellow, and red food coloring. Plus toothpicks. First make your vanilla and chocolate cupcakes/ brownie mix according to the box, let cool. While they are cooling down place coconut flakes in bowl mix with green food coloring. This will be our "lettuce". Next place vanilla icing in two plastic bags add red food coloring to one and yellow food coloring to the other. This will be our "ketchup" and "mustard". Once cupcakes are cooled off cut all of them in half. Place half of chocolate cupcake in between the top and bottom half of the vanilla cupcake. Place red and yellow icing on top of chocolate cupcake and sprinkle with coconut flakes then place vanilla cupcake on top. Hold together with toothpicks:) I love this recipe. I made two batches of it. The first batch I messed up because I was making too many at once and in order to get the shape right you have to only cook 2 at a time. It's a little time consuming but it's also fun because you can personalize them by writing your own little fortunes. You can make them for your boyfriend, friends, parents, or anyone really.:) Here's what you will need: Two eggs, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp almond extract, 3 tbsp olive oil or veggie oil, 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 tsp cornmeal, a dash of salt, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 tsp water. Directions: mix eggs, extract(vanilla, and almond), and oil. Mix until fluffy. Add flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and water. Mix until smooth. Preheat oven to 350. Put two tbsp of batter onto a greased pan. Bake for no longer than 11 minutes. Take your circle cookies out, place fortune in the middle, fold in half, then fold cookie so that the ends touch at the bottom. You can use a rim of a mug to help you. Then place the cookies into muffin pans to help keep the shape as they dry. They will dry fast which is why you do only two cookies at a time.:) that's pretty much it.:) Enjoy! |
