With the holidays coming up and the weather getting colder you become very limited to doing things in your free time. Not to worry because I have put together a super, awesome list of creative and fun activities that you can do either by yourself, with friends, with family or on a date. I hope you enjoy! Number 1. The classic Ice skating then having hot chocolate together date. It's the ultimate winter date. A must do for anyone in a relationship. It's fun, good exercise and it's always nice to have a little treat afterwards. Number 2. Going Sledding. Get together with family or friends and find a giant hill near by. You can get sleds from the dollar store or Five Below. It's a great way to spend the afternoon on a Saturday.
Number 3. Go to a Christmas Light Show: There are so many different light shows around. They usually have them at farms. You can drive your car through and watch all the different displays of lights. Which will definitely put you in the holiday mood. Number 4. Have an Ugly Sweater Party: I have always wanted to throw a party like this. How funny it would be to see all the different creations people will come up with for their sweater. You could even give out a prize for whoever has the ugliest sweater of all. Number 5. Bad Movie Night: Cuddle up on the couch and pop some pop-corn cause it's time to be entertained by a movie so bad that it's actually pretty funny. I recommend watching "The Room" or "Zombie Beavers" if you can find it on Netflix. Number 6. Look up Free Events: There are always free events going on in whatever town you live in. Look up local events near you. I find a chocolate walk, tree lighting, holiday window decorating contest and a holiday house tour all free!!! Number 7. Bake Christmas Cookies: "There's Going To Be A Storm Of Baking!" as my mother would say. Every year it's a holiday tradition to bake cookies for friends and family. We bake Ginger bread men, sugar cookies, jelly thumbprints, hazelnut balls, and chocolate chip. They make great gifts and are super yummy! Number 8. DIY Gifts: Time to check out Pinterest for easy DIY gift ideas. Pick the ones you like the best, buy the materials and put them together. You can never go wrong with a chocolate bar sleigh or a gift in a jar. Number 9. Donate Blood: This is the time of the year for giving back and not many people donate their blood probably because nobody wants a needle in their arm. There is always a high demand for blood types. I try to donate as much as I can because I have such a rare blood type so they are always calling me to donate more. Number 10. Donate to Toys for Tots: If you are too freaked out to donate blood you can always donate to Toys for Tots which they have boxes for all over the place. Go to a Toys R Us, pick out a nice toy and donate. Not only will you be helping a child in need but it will make you feel good too! Number 11. Take Holiday Pictures!: Take cute holiday themed pictures with your boyfriend, family or friends and then head over to Walmart and make Christmas cards to send out to everyone you know. The funnier and more creative the pictures are the better. Number 12: Make a Classic Lunch and Watch a Movie: As a cute indoor date idea make your boyfriend/husband a classic lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Put on your favorite Christmas movie while you eat it. Number 13. Where's Waldo? Grab your boyfriend/husband and head to your closest bookstore/library. Go into the children's section a get as many Where's Waldo books as you can. Have a contest going to see who can find Waldo first. Whoever can find him the most amount of time get's treated to dinner out. Number 14. Home Shopping: Spend the day going house hunting. even if you're not looking to move any time soon it's still fun to look through different homes and get an idea of what you like. Number 15. Decorating the Tree: Spend the evening decorating the Christmas tree while listening to your favorite Christmas songs. Number 16. Have a Cookie Exchange Party: Get together with your friends and have a cookie exchange party where everyone brings a tin of cookies and everyone shares them as you talk or play board games or whatever you what to do. it's your party. Number 17. Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt: You can either look up a list online or make up your own one. Then drive around the neighborhood looking for things on the list such as, a house with all white lights, a house with a Santa etc. Number 18. Make a List of New Years Resolutions: Take some time for yourself to make a list of what you hope to accomplish this year. It could be something big or just a bunch of small stuff. Just make sure that your goals are realistic and doable otherwise you may get disappointed. Number 19. Go to a Chocolate Factory: This is definitely on my to do list. A chocolate factory would be so much fun and something different to do for a change. Plus you could even make your own chocolate yummy! Number 20. Go see a Christmas Play: There is always Plays to see at your local Theater. I have always wanted to see A Christmas Carol! I hope this list helps you guys beat the winter blues!
